Waves of plastic have washed on the shores of the Dominican Republic. Over 500 workers have been drafted in to clear up 60 tonnes of rubbish in the last week alone.
Emergency workers use heavy machinery in the eastern Taiwan city of Hualien after a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the area on Wednesday morning.
