Hundreds of Ukrainian refugees are arriving in the village of Medyka on the border between Ukraine and Poland. They are being cared for by a large number of volunteers who have come to provide them with aid and food. IMAGES
Polish volunteers are ready to welcome Ukrainian refugees in Przemysl train station. Six in every 10 Ukrainian refugees have crossed the Polish border, according to UNHCR's latest figures, and more than 10 million people are now thought to have fled their homes, including the millions of internally displaced people. Refugees cross the border from Ukraine into Poland as Kyiv is subjected to a fresh round of bombardment overnight, with columns of smoke rising high into the morning sky. Nearly three weeks after the invasion of Ukraine, Russian forces hemming in Kyiv on two sides have stepped up their attacks, with many in the capital fearing a full-on assault could come soon. IMAGES
