South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa visits a site of looting in the eastern KwaZulu-Natal province following a week of deadly violence which he says had been 'planned'. Shopping malls and warehouses have been ransacked in two provinces, stoking fears of shortages and inflicting a devastating blow to the economy. Deadly floods in Kenya’s capital Nairobi continue to engulf sections of the city’s streets and homes, including in the Mathare slum district, one of the areas most affected.
