The IMF downgrades its forecast for global economic growth this year, citing the impact of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, which contributed to a slowdown in the United States and China. Washington, Apr 6 (EFE / EPA) .- (Camera: Shawn Thew) The global recovery is accelerating and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates that the world's economic growth will reach a 6% in 2021 -five tenths more than expected in January-, although it warns that the Covid-19 crisis has left scars in emerging countries such as growing inequality and an increase in poverty.FOOTAGE OF THE INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND AND THE WORLD BANK HEADQUARTERS.
"Global growth in 2020 will dip below its last year's levels," says International Monetary Fund chief Kristalina Georgieva, "but how far it will fall and how long the impact will be, is still difficult to predict."
