Google launched a verification platform dubbed 'CrossCheck' at the French Development Agency's headquarters in Paris on Tuesday, aimed at combatting fake news. The partnership between First Draft and the Google News Lab will work in collaboration with 17 newsrooms, including Agence France-Presse (AFP), BuzzFeed News, France Televisions and Le Monde, among others.
