Tunis, Jan 18 (EFE).- A power struggle being waged between the head of state, the government and the president of the Parliament has opened the door for violence on the streets of Tunisia, where new restrictions -- in addition to those in place to fight the coronavirus pandemic -- have been introduced as the country marks the 10th anniversary of the fall of former dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
Indonesia's capital Jakarta erupted in violence on Wednesday as police in riot gear fired water cannons and tear gas at protestors opposed to President Joko Widodo's re-election, with parts of the sprawling city littered with debris and burned cars. The city's governor Anies Baswedan was quoted by local media as saying six people had been killed with more than 200 injured. IMAGES
