The Qashqai, which is regarded as a pioneer in the crossover segment, is once again setting standards: the compact bestseller is the first Nissan model in Europe to feature the unique e-POWER drive.The system, which was developed independently by the company, offers the advantages of purely electric driving without having to worry about range and long charging times. In contrast to conventional hybrid vehicles, the electric motor, which responds immediately and linearly, always drives the wheels. The energy is supplied by a battery, which a small combustion engine charges while driving.
Nissan Australia has again raised the small SUV bar with a completely new Qashqai that is even roomier than before, and which features a new turbo-petrol engine with more power and torque, improved fuel economy and lower emissions.Penned at the studios of Nissan Design Europe in London and engineered at the Nissan Technical Centre in Bedfordshire, UK, the new Qashqai is also the first vehicle globally to use Nissan’s innovative CMF-C architecture, which boasts a 48 percent increase in structural rigidity.In terms of construction, the body-in-white makes use of more lightweight materials, as well as advanced stamping and welding techniques, not just to increase strength, but to also reduce weight. For the first time, the rear hatchback door on the Qashqai is now made of a composite material, which saves a further 2.6kg.Central to the engineering vision was to retain the current Qashqai’s proportions, which are “just right” and key to its success, meaning it comfortably navigates urban roads and fits comfortably in parking spaces, while also giving excellent interior space.The front and rear doors, front fenders and bonnet are all now made of aluminium, which offers a weight-saving, and the total net advantage for customers, thanks to all the advanced manufacturing techniques, is that the overall body-in-white is lighter by 60kg and stiffer by 41 percent compared to the outgoing model.

Nissan’s innovative e-POWER family has expanded, with the new Qashqai Ti e-POWER arriving in Australia to offer customers an exciting option in the city-friendly SUV space.Featuring Nissan’s pioneering powertrain, e-POWER combines an advanced petrol engine with an electric motor and 2.1kWh battery to deliver smooth driving power and impressive fuel efficiency+.The Qashqai e-POWER is available on the flagship Ti trim level. The model also benefits from the range-wide improvements made to the recently updated Qashqai that has already launched in Australia, including CMF-C platform, practicality increases, tech updates and its high-tech safety systems.The Qashqai’s Ti e-POWER system comprises a high-output battery complemented by a variable compression ratio 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, a power generator, inverter and an electric motor.The petrol engine generates the electricity, which can be transmitted via the inverter to the battery pack, the electric motor, or both, according to the driving scenario. Nissan’s e-POWER also delivers fuel use of just 5.2L/100km+ on the combined cycle.
Nissan announced an all-new compact electric vehicle coming to European markets. The Nissan X-Trail has welcomed another important accolade, with the new model named the Best Medium-Sized SUV in the RAC’s Best Drives 2023.It joins a growing list of awards for the Nissan X-Trail, which, since arriving as an all-new model, has been named Australia's Best Medium SUV at the Drive Car of The Year Awards, been recognised by the Women’s World Car of The Year 2023 judges, and received a 2023 Good Design Award, among a host of other local and international honours.The Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia’s Best Drives judging recognises the best of the approximately 60 vehicles they road tested over 2023, with judges focusing on value, safety, design and function, fit for purpose, fuel economy within class, and ride and handling. The use of two electric motors eliminates the cardan shaft that is necessary with conventional mechanical all-wheel drive systems. A differential is also superfluous. This results in new creative freedom and more space in the interior.
