US President Joe Biden will announce new air defense weapons for Ukraine during a visit by President Zelensky Friday, the White House says. "President Biden will announce a new package of military assistance today that includes significant air defense capabilities to help Ukraine," National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan says during a briefing. The White House says that the US President Joe Biden will host NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for talks on June 12, one month before the military alliance's summit, with Ukraine atop the agenda. SOUNDBITE
"We're confident that at the end of the day, Finland and Sweden will have an effective and efficient accession process, that Turkey's concerns can be addressed," US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan says during a press briefing at the White House, in reference to Finland and Sweden's bid to join NATO.
