Italian President Sergio Mattarella arrives at the Quirinale Palace in Rome for the guard of honour as he is sworn in for a second term. Mattarella, a former constitutional court judge who has already served seven years as Italy's president, was elected after parliament begged him to stay on to stave off a looming political crisis, and few expect the 80-year-old to see through another full term.
