The fifth-generation Scenic E-Tech electric, due to go on sale shortly, is produced in Douai France, the site where it was born in 1996. Who better to talk about the evolution of this iconic model and the plant where it is made than Franck Lucas, Unit Manager, who is celebrating 41 years of service at the site this year. Franck has been involved in the production of every generation of Scenic since its inception and has witnessed the technological advances from one iteration to the next, as well as the improvements made to workstations and manufacturing methods within the plant. With a rooster incorporated into the front windscreen, the All-new Megane E-TECH Electric proudly displays its French origins, made at the Douai factory (northern France) in the ElectriCity hub. The assembly line at Renault’s historical factory had to be completely overhauled in order to accommodate the production of all-electric cars. With the new Megane E-TECH Electric, Renault presents the first representative of a completely new generation of electric vehicles. The dynamically designed model based on the newly developed CMF-EV platform combines all of Renault's expertise as a pioneer of affordable electromobility that is suitable for everyday use. A range of up to 470 kilometers in the WLTP test cycle, the slimmest battery on the market at 11.0 centimeters and the largest info display area in a vehicle in the compact class are just a few of the highlights with which the Megane E-TECH Electric Redefined the limits for battery electric vehicles.With its multitude of innovations, the Renault Megane E-TECH Electric embodies the ""Nouvelle Vague"" from Renault, in English ""New Wave"", a product offensive with which the brand is driving the transformation to an integral mobility provider and operator of a fully networked ecosystem for electromobility . Renault offers the electric model in two power levels with 96 kW/131 hp and 160 kW/218 hp. The battery is also available in two capacity levels: 40 kWh and 60 kWh. The batteries can be ""filled up"" with a wide range of charging capacities and amperages, including, depending on the version, DC fast charging stations with up to 130 kW.
