During a state visit to Sweden, French President Emmnauel Macron urges Europe to take 'bold' decisions to support Ukraine, regardless of what the US decides. While the US has sent tens of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022, Republican lawmakers are growing reluctant to keep supporting Kyiv, saying it lacks a clear end game as the fighting grinds on. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrrives in Kyiv for his first visit to Ukraine. He is greeted by Ukrainina president, Volodymyr Zelensky, outside his office before heading inside for a meeting where he is expected to discuss Poland's ongoing support for the war-torn nation. IMAGES
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says that Washington and its allies remain and must remain steadfast in their backing for Ukraine in its fight against Russia. "The answer here today at NATO is clear and it's unwavering. We must and we will continue to support Ukraine," Blinken says a meeting of the Western military alliance. There are fears that a lack of adequate support from the West could end up forcing Kyiv to seek a compromise with Russian President Vladimir Putin from a position of weakness. SOUNDBITE
