At least 10 people were reportedly killed when a bomb exploded inside the Technology Institute metro station in the center of Saint Petersburg, Russia on Monday. Emergency services gathering on the platform 20 minutes after the blast struck the train as it had pulled into the station. The Saint Petersburg Metro have closed all subway stations in the wake of the incident.
"This morning, US forces conducted three successful self-defense strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen," US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby tells reporters. "This is the fourth pre-emptive action that the US military has taken in the past week against Houthi missile launchers that were ready to launch attacks," Kirby adds. SOUNDBITE
Rescuers work in the Solomyansky district of Kyiv after a barrage of Russian missile attacks killed four people, including one in Kyiv, and wounded 27 others in the capital, according to officials. A senior UN official condemns Russia for its "appalling assaults" on Ukraine which saw some 158 missiles launched, killing at least 30 people according to Kyiv.
