In the chilly surroundings of Pite Havsbad, Sweden, Klara Andersson is pushing the Tavascan XE to its limits on the ice and snow of her home country. Meanwhile, Nasser Al-Attiyah is surfing the dunes 4,500 kilometres away in the Qatar desert after winning his fifth Dakar Rally. Following their strong performance in the final two races of last year’s edition, with a podium finish in Chile and a victory in the final round in Uruguay, right now the two ABT CUPRA XE team drivers are preparing for the most extreme electric challenge in a new Extreme E season. Theirs is a story of contrasts that add up, driven by the same unstoppable impulse.
Аfter making their season debut in Saudi Arabia, the ABT CUPRA XE team drivers Jutta Kleinschmidt and Nasser Al-Attiyah are ready for a new challenge. This time it will be a double-header on the island of Sardinia, Italy, with two races taking place on 6-7 July and 9-10 July. The tracks of the Nasser Racing Camp in Spain set the stage to prepare the CUPRA Tavascan XE to face one of the most complicated locations of the season, with 4 days of races on a very uneven circuit, which will make it the most demanding X Prix so far.
The CUPRA Born, the brand’s first 100% electric model, which delivers an emotional design and instantaneous performance, continued the company’s great results during Euro NCAP’s safety testing, achieving a 5-star safety rating. It’s a significant result for the CUPRA Born, and it now joins the CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon as five-star cars, highlighting once again that the brand is committed to delivering vehicles that mix contemporary performance and maximum safety. But this time in a 100% electric model.
The CUPRA Born is the brand’s first 100% electric vehicle and the next stage of the unconventional challenger brand’s development. It integrates the most advanced powertrain technology: the pure electric system is available with a choice of either 150PS (110kW) or 204PS (150kW) electric engines that deliver energy to the rear wheels. With the addition of an e-Boost package, maximum output can reach up to 170kW (231PS), with battery packs of 58kWh and 77kW, to deliver a range of up to 420km (58kWh) or up to 548km (77kWh).When equipped with the e-Boost package and with the 58kWh battery, the CUPRA Born goes from 0 to 50km/h in only 2.6s and the 0-100km/h in just 6.6 seconds.
