Ukrainian troops have been undergoing an accelerated training programme in Poland on German Leopard 2 tanks, ahead of a highly anticipated Russian Spring assault.
Cougars, Challengers, Strykers and Marders are now rumbling around Ukraine, the country's defence minister said on Monday.
Social media users have been critcising the West for sending Leopard 2 tanks after videos purport the military vehicles are not adapted to Ukrainian terrain.
Training 12 hours a day, six days a week at a German military base, Ukrainian troops are learning how to master the Leopard 2 tanks recently supplied by Western allies as quickly as possible, with Kyiv hoping they may change the course of the war.
According to social media images, Leopard 2 tanks - just delivered to Ukraine after weeks of waiting - have been destroyed by Russia’s Wagner mercenary group. But Wagner’s head, Yevegny Prigozhin has denied the claims - and the images have been around a while on the internet. We take a look in this edition of Truth or Fake with Vedika Bahl.
