Ukraine, one year on: The impact on the nation's women and girls

Description

In this special edition, as the world marks the one-year anniversary of Russia's ground offensive in Ukraine, we're focusing on the impact of the war on the nation's women and children. Annette Young talks to Olga Stefanishyna, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European integration, on how the war is redefining gender roles in Ukraine and what that means for the country's post-conflict future. We meet an Ukrainian activist who is seeking justice for victims of rape by Russian soldiers. Plus Anya Neistat, legal director for the Clooney Foundation, explains why for the first time, Russian soldiers and commanders accused of war crimes in Ukraine, stand a good chance of being prosecuted.
