The death toll from the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria has climbed above 35 thousand. More than a million others are now homeless, living on the streets in below freezing temperatures, or waiting for their loved ones bodies to be recovered. Search and rescue efforts are still underway almost two weeks after Indonesia was struck by a powerful earthquake followed by a tsunami.
