Hundreds of Syrian refugees, most of them farmers, leave Lebanon, from the city of Arsal in the Bakaa valley on the eastern border with Syria, for their neighbouring home country, in the latest such return coordinated between Beirut and Damascus.

According to the UN refugee agency, nearly one million Syrian refugees currently live in Lebanon. With the IS group defeated, the border with Syria has recently reopened, but many Syrian refugees are staying put. FRANCE 24’s Julie Dungelhoeff reports from the town of Qaa in northern Lebanon, which is home to 30,000 Syrians. Their ongoing presence is proving divisive for the inhabitants of this small Christian town.
