The White House says US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have spoken about Gaza in their first conversation for nearly a month amid reports of tensions between the leaders. "The two leaders also reviewed the situation in Gaza and the shift to targeted operations that will enable the flow of increasing amounts of humanitarian assistance while keeping the military pressure on Hamas and its leaders," US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby tells reporters in a press briefing. US President Joe Biden is expected to meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping on the sidelines of a summit in San Francisco next month for "constructive" talks, the White House says. Attorney Lin Wood tweeted on Friday that Vice President Mike Pence should be arrested for treason and executed by firing squad. The staunch supporter of President Donald Trump also blamed Chief Justice John Roberts and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for the election results. According to Business Insider, Wood's remarks triggered some Republicans to issue tweets to distance themselves from him. Among them were Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis, and the conservative high school student Nicholas Sandmann. In recent weeks, Wood has filed or joined lawsuits to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's election victory. Wood has also cited conspiracy theories in the past.
