Protesters gather outside Britain's High Court as it hears a legal challenge over government plans to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda. The UK announced in April that it would remove some migrants whose asylum applications failed, sending them on a one-way ticket to Rwanda for resettlement. The UK Conservative Party's "1922 Committee" announces the results from the latest round of voting in the party leadership contest. Rishi Sunak, former Finance Minister, is still in the lead with 118 votes. A major incident has been declared by the London Fire Brigade after a fire broke out at a block of flats in Dagenham in East London. Forty fire engines and more than two-hundred firefighters have been at the scene since the fire broke out in the early hours of Monday morning. IMAGES
Former US president Donald Trump vows to appeal his criminal conviction for falsifying business records, saying that his legal team had several grounds to challenge the verdict handed down by a New York jury.
