Several hundred demonstrators gather in Nanterre, near Paris, to protest the release from jail of a police officer who is accused of killing a teenager named Nahel on June 27. The officer remains charged with murder as criminal justice proceedings continue. The rally was called by the teen's mother. IMAGES
A rally against anti-Semitism organised by French far-left party La France Insoumise (France Unbowed) is disrupted by demonstrators carrying signs reading "Touche pas à la mémoire" ("Don't touch our remembrance"), in criticism of party leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon's stance on recent events.
