Spanish people react to the latest news on suspended Spanish football chief Luis Rubiales case. Rubiales could face further domestic sanctions as prosecutors at the country’s top criminal court said on August 28 they had opened a preliminary investigation on the grounds his actions could constitute a crime of “sexual assault”. After Spain won the Women's World Cup in Sydney on August 20, Rubiales sparked a massive backlash after forcibly kissing Hermoso on the lips during the medal ceremony.
The UN's cultural agency UNESCO recommends that Venice be added to its list of world heritage in danger, saying the Italian authorities needed to step up efforts to secure the historic city and its surrounding lagoon.
