As Spain is facing a new summer heatwave, about 800 homeless people have to deal with temperatures up about to 38 degrees Celsius (100 Fahrenheit) in Madrid, and above 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) in other parts of the country.
Many countries in the southern and western parts of the continent have already succumbed to exceedingly hot and dry weather, expected to last for about 10 days.
Spain's meteorological office says heatwaves are becoming more frequent.
Local residents and tourists treat themselves to a boat trip and enjoy the sun in the park of the Palace of Versailles, while France is experiencing an episode of summer heat.
