Marking a key milestone in its Nissan NEXT transformation plan, Nissan today unveiled the all-new Ariya. As the company’s first all-electric crossover SUV, the Ariya opens a new chapter for the Nissan brand and embodies the company’s vision: enriching people’s lives.Representing the pinnacle of Nissan’s technologies and design, the 100% electric Nissan Ariya debuted during a digital event in Yokohama. The model is a major step in Nissan’s transformation as the company refocuses on key strengths, including electrified vehicles and SUVs.The Ariya sets the pace for Nissan’s plan to roll out 12 new models in 18 months. The all-new crossover demonstrates Nissan’s commitment to meeting customer demand for new electrified, autonomous and connected technologies.Nissan expects sales of EVs and e-POWER electrified models to be more than 1 million units a year by the end of fiscal 2023. By then, the company also aims to introduce autonomous driving technologies in more than 20 models in 20 markets, and to have sold more than 1.5 million vehicles equipped with these systems.
The Nissan Ariya is the first all-electric coupe crossover, opening a new chapter in the company's electrification strategy. The drive concept specially developed for the electrified Nissan models, which uses electric motors on each axle, guarantees safe and reassuring driving behavior in every situation.Whether at the dawn of spring in the Alps, in the hot summer through southern Europe, on windy and leaf-covered roads in English autumn or through the slippery and freezing winter landscape of Bavaria: Nissan e-4ORCE technology masters all seasons with flying colors.Even the toughest conditions are no problem for the all-wheel drive offered for the electrified X-Trail and the all-electric Ariya: Nissan has conquered the snowy mountains in the Pyrenees and completed laps on the world's highest permanent racetrack in Andorra at 2,400 meters - impressive proof of the excellent handling and maximum control that the e-4ORCE offers even under extreme winter conditions.In order to guarantee safety and driving pleasure in everyday life, the Nissan engineers have concentrated on three core elements during development: the management of the electric motors, the all-wheel drives and chassis control technologies. The use of two electric motors eliminates the cardan shaft that is necessary with conventional mechanical all-wheel drive systems. A differential is also superfluous. This results in new creative freedom and more space in the interior.

And to maintain its place as the reference in its segment, it has received a comprehensive aesthetic refresh, as well as significant technology updates.From the bold changes to the exterior styling, to the comprehensive updates to the infotainment and connected services on-board, the philosophy behind the changes to Qashqai is to keep the essence of what consumers love about the car, enhance its strengths and to add even more intuitive and convenient technology.The new Qashqai exudes a sharp and modern dynamism thanks to its refreshed design.The front grille of the Qashqai has been comprehensively updated to create a more striking first impression. Inspired by the patterns of ancient Japanese armour scales, it now consists of dozens of high gloss, three dimensional comma-shaped elements painted in high gloss black paint which appear to float in the space between the lip of the bonnet and the numberplate holder. To the sides of the central portion, the "commas" form a triangular shape from the new headlights down to a point to the side of the numberplate and they are finished in a "satin chrome" hot foil stamp, on the top grade version.The flanks of the bumper are body-coloured and a strip of black in a high-gloss finish runs below the numberplate to the lower corners of the bumper. Underneath the cooling aperture, there is a thin body-coloured "chin strap" which gives a sense of definition to the front.
Nissan’s innovative e-POWER family has expanded, with the new Qashqai Ti e-POWER arriving in Australia to offer customers an exciting option in the city-friendly SUV space.Featuring Nissan’s pioneering powertrain, e-POWER combines an advanced petrol engine with an electric motor and 2.1kWh battery to deliver smooth driving power and impressive fuel efficiency+.The Qashqai e-POWER is available on the flagship Ti trim level. The model also benefits from the range-wide improvements made to the recently updated Qashqai that has already launched in Australia, including CMF-C platform, practicality increases, tech updates and its high-tech safety systems.The Qashqai’s Ti e-POWER system comprises a high-output battery complemented by a variable compression ratio 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, a power generator, inverter and an electric motor.The petrol engine generates the electricity, which can be transmitted via the inverter to the battery pack, the electric motor, or both, according to the driving scenario. Nissan’s e-POWER also delivers fuel use of just 5.2L/100km+ on the combined cycle.
