Indian PM Narendra Modi's Bastille Day state visit 'commemorates 25 years of France-India ties'

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in France Thursday for a two-day visit where he will attend the country's Bastille Day parade and discuss major new defence deals. Modi was welcomed at Orly airport outside Paris by his French counterpart Elisabeth Borne as he stepped off his official plane to military honours, ahead of a dinner with President Emmanuel Macron. For more on Modi's state visit, FRANCE 24 is joined by Garima Mohan, Fellow with the Asia program at the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
