Description

Porsche presents the special edition 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition, exclusively available on the French market. Pay homage to the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and commemorate the history of Porsche at the historic Circuit de la Sarthe. The 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition is inspired by two winning cars: the Porsche 356 SL and the Porsche 911 GT1 '98. By reinterpreting its design elements, the result is a modern sports car for the gentleman driver. The Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) has also played an important role in the realization of this special edition. “The history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is closely linked to that of Porsche, a prestigious brand that is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. This special edition is a fantastic tribute to the most important endurance race in the world”, says Pierre Fillon, President of ACO. “We want to thank Porsche for their commitment to endurance racing and for continuing to give car enthusiasts something to dream about.”The special edition is based on the 480 horsepower (353 kW) 911 Carrera GTS. A turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine, together with the standard sports chassis, offers characteristic Porsche performance. Customers can choose between a 7-speed manual transmission or the 8-speed PDK transmission.

The turbocharged three-litre flat-six in the new 911 GTS delivers 353 kW (480 PS). Maximum torque is 570 Nm, an increase of 20 Nm over its predecessor. Zero to 100 km/h takes just 3.3 seconds in the 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupé with the eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK): three tenths faster than its predecessor. A seven-speed manual transmission with a particularly short throw is available for all 911 GTS models as an alternative to the PDK.The Ferrari Roma Spider, the latest model from the Maranello marque, was presented to clients at an exclusive event at the El Badi Palace in Marrakesh. This timelessly elegant, high-performance car is a contemporary take on the chic, pleasure-seeking Italian lifestyle of the 1950s and 60s. This spider carries over the proportions, volumes and specifications of the Ferrari Roma’s hugely successful V8 2+ concept, but what makes it so striking is the adoption of a soft top, a solution making a welcome return to the Prancing Horse range on a front-engined car 54 years after the 1969 365 GTS4.

GTS stands for Gran Turismo Sport. Ever since the creation of the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS in 1963, these three letters have held special significance for Porsche fans. Now, there is a derivative with this legendary letter combination in every Porsche model series. At the LA Auto Show (19 – 28 November 2021), the sports car manufacturer will present a new version of its electric sports car under the acronym GTS. With a range of up to 504 km (based on WLTP figures), the new sports model is the first Taycan to break the 500 km mark. The Taycan GTS is the dynamic all-rounder of the model range. With up to 440 kW (598 PS) of overboost when using Launch Control, its power is impressive. The chassis and optional rear-axle steering have also been specifically adapted to the GTS, while the exterior and interior have a distinctive look. The third body style of the first all-electric Porsche model series will also make its debut at the LA Auto Show: the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo. The newcomer shares its sporty silhouette and rearward-sloping roof line with the Taycan Cross Turismo. Another feature they have in common is the functional design of the luggage compartment, which offers more than 1,200 litres of load capacity under the tailgate. The Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo start from 131,834 and 132,786 euros (prices for Germany, including 19 per cent VAT and country-specific equipment). Both model variants will roll out to dealers in the spring of 2022. Further engine options for the Sport Turismo will follow.
