“Allumée” lors de la cérémonie d’ouverture le 26 juillet 2024, la vasque olympique n’est qu’un mélange d’eau et de lumière qui donne l’illusion d’une flamme. Imaginée par Mathieu Lehanneur en partenariat avec EDF, cette “flamme” olympique est impressionnante et n’utilise aucun combustible. Elle s’élève tous les soirs dans le ciel de Paris au jardin des Tuileries pendant toute la durée des Jeux. La vraie flamme se serait-elle donc éteinte après la cérémonie d’ouverture ? Pas du tout ! La vraie flamme olympique se trouve en fait juste à côté de la vasque, dans une lanterne bien gardée dans une vitrine. C’est la flamme originelle, allumée à Olympie en Grèce le 16 avril 2024 et transportée jusqu’à Paris par différents porteurs.
