World cup matches 'safe to attend' say NZ police after fatal shooting

New Zealand police hold a media briefing after a gunman killed two people and wounded at least five at a building site in central Auckland Thursday, just hours before New Zealand's biggest city hosts the opening game of the football Women's World Cup. "We are satisfied there is no ongoing risk to the public and no reason why the tournament should not proceed. The matches are safe to attend," says Commissioner of Police Andrew Coster. IMAGES
