Lamborghini design is extraordinary and inimitable, with today’s models born from more than six decades of inspirational and future-proof originality. But as grounded within Lamborghini heritage and its brand DNA is performance, with aerodynamics a central and ongoing innovation within Lamborghini’s design studio and R&D teams.The video “Beyond design, mastering the air” celebrates the mutual relationship between Lamborghini design and aerodynamics, explained by Design Director Mitja Borkert and Ugo Riccio, Coordinator of Aerodynamics, Aero Acoustics and Vehicle Thermal Management. They ponder the relentless inspiration and drive, both personal and embedded within Lamborghini company DNA, that combines art and science to create masterpieces such as the new Lamborghini Revuelto.
From now on Lamborghini will have two beating hearts: the overwhelming roar of the V12 and the innovative energy of its electric motors. For the first drive on the road and track Revuelto, born in Sant’Agata Bolognese, silently traveled the Bolognese streets of the city center, crossed the hills of Valdobbiadene, continued towards the sinuous mountain paths of Monte Grappa and finished its journey at the Piero Taruffi Vallelunga circuit, near Rome.On each leg of this journey, the Revuelto convoy in the most representative colors and trims from the extensive range available, emphasized its specific abilities derived from the combination of electric propulsion and combustion engine admirably integrated into a completely new architecture. The first super sports HPEV (high performance electrified vehicle) offers cutting-edge performance: acceleration from 0-100 km/h in only 2.5 seconds and a top speed of more than 350 km/h. These numbers, combined with exceptional dynamism thanks to the introduction of electric torque vectoring and four-wheel drive available in fully electric drive mode, ensure the Revuelto super sports car expresses its amplified qualities both on track and in daily driving.
On the eve of the international dynamic debut at the Autodromo Piero Taruffi in Vallelunga, Lamborghini factory driver Andrea Caldarelli tested the new Revuelto, the first super sports V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) on the Roman circuit.Unveiled in the brand’s 60th anniversary year, Revuelto defines a new paradigm in terms of performance, sportiness, and driving pleasure from its unprecedented new architecture, innovative design, maximum-efficiency aerodynamics, a new carbon chassis concept, and a 1015 CV powertrain that combines the new V12 engine with three electric motors.With Lamborghini, Caldarelli has won some of the most prestigious titles in the endurance category, including the triple crown of the GT World Challenge Europe in 2019 and the 24 Hours of Daytona in the GTD category. Caldarelli will also be part of the crew that will contend the 2024 season of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the wheel of the new Lamborghini SC63.
The Lamborghini Revuelto, the company’s all-new hybrid V12 super sports car, has already captured the popular imagination with its combination of design, innovative technology and high performance. Now Automobili Lamborghini celebrates the arrival of the new car by involving one of the world’s greatest photographers, Anton Corbijn.
In March 2023 Automobili Lamborghini unveiled the Revuelto, the first super sports V12 plug-in hybrid HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle). The Revuelto combines a new V12 with an innovative hybrid system with three electric motors, posing novel challenges not just during the design and development stage but also in the manufacturing phase. Ranieri Niccoli, Lamborghini Chief Manufacturing Officer, and some of his team take us behind the scenes of the Revuelto project in the second of three short films dedicated to the super sports car, ushering in a new era for the Lamborghini brand.
