Financial planners do know quite a bit about money, generally speaking. But even they get surprised sometimes by unexpected costs. And according to Business Insider, financial planners say first-time parenthood is a minefield for such unexpected financial demands. To begin with, just giving birth is an expensive practice. For a woman with insurance, the average birth costs $10,808 without any complications. Once baby arrives, your food bill will go up. A lot. Formula is expensive, especially if baby has special dietary needs. Kiddie meals at restaurants aren't that cheap, either. And teen boys are walking refrigerator-inhalers! And public school isn't really free. School supplies, books, uniforms, sports equipment--the list is endless. Keeping kids engaged and learning after school isn't free, either. Lessons, scouting, clubs, summer camps, family vacations all cost a very pretty penny! Finally, medical care and daycare costs for children can drive parents to distraction. You've been warned!
Business Insider reports world-famous Portuguese soccer star and mega-gazillionaire Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for the coronavirus. Business Insider reports the Portuguese Football Federation said the 35-year-old is 'doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.' After Ronaldo, who plays as a forward for Juventus, tested positive, his teammates all took new tests and received negative results. Ronaldo brought in $109 million in 2019. According to Forbes, that makes him the second-highest-paid athlete in the world, behind only Lionel Messi. After nine seasons with Real Madrid, Ronaldo signed a four-year deal in 2018 with Italian powerhouse Juventus. That banks him a sweet $64 million a year.
LeBron James, the Finals MVP, is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. However, the NBA's salary cap rules mean he typically earns less than other mega-star athletes. European soccer leagues lack a salary cap, according to Business Insider. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo made far more last year than James. Still, LeBron James led the LA Lakers to an NBA championship on Sunday night. This marked his fourth championship and first since joining the Lakers in 2018.
1,000 Messi and Ronaldo masks have already been pre-ordered. But fans want more so the factory has launched a line dedicated to World Cup legends.
While most families adopt a dog or cat as a playful companion, one couple in the Russian city of Penza got an unusual and exotic new pet - a Puma named Messi. Owners Sasha and Masha Dmitriev first met the big cat a year ago while visiting a zoo in their home city and decided they had to have him. Messi finally moved into the Dmitrievs’ place and the Internet can't get enough! The big cat's Instagram account already has over 180 thousand followers and his YouTube channel has gotten over 2 million plays since it was created 6 months ago.
