The future of driving pleasure is electric, locally emission-free – and characterised by a typically BMW sporting flair expressed not only in dynamic talent, but also through an emotionally rich aural experience. BMW IconicSounds Electric brings an unmistakable sound portfolio to BMW models powered by a fully electric or plug-in hybrid drive system. The collaboration between composer and curator Hans Zimmer and Renzo Vitale, Creative Director Sound at the BMW Group, has produced a distinctive driving sound which customers will soon be able to experience in a version developed specially for electric BMW M cars. Hans Zimmer had previously been involved in the development of an inspiring ready-to-drive sound for electrically powered BMWs which instils a sense of excitement at the prospect of electric driving when the Start/Stop button is pressed. The latest chapter in this collaboration covers drive sounds for the BMW iX and BMW i4, including a differentiated sound for the M-specification version of the BMW i4.
Finally, BMW’s battery electric compact executive car i4 shows that luxury does not always means better safety performance. Equipped with a similar sensor set to the 3 Series tested in 2019, the gran sedan missed out on some critical crash avoidance points and achieved a 4-star rating.
The BMW iX is one of the first models from BMW to already use the latest generation of the iDrive display and operating system. The new iDrive not only enables a particularly intense interaction between driver and vehicle, but also a greater personalisation of the driving experience with the new My Modes. They create unique moments that result from a combination of vehicle characteristics and interior atmosphere tailored to the particular situation. On the occasion of CES 2022, BMW will now for the first time showcase further variants of the overall user experience created in this way in the interior. With My Modes Expressive and Relax, in the future BMW customers will have additional ways of adapting the vehicle settings to the particular situation and mood.

Its latest addition is the fully electric BMW 3 Series, which will enter the Chinese market in May 2022.The BMW i3 eDrive35L is the perfect fit for the particular requirements of Chinese customers. It is based on the successful BMW 3 Series, which led the premium-compact segment in China in 2021.With an 11 cm longer wheelbase than a standard 3 Series, the BMW i3 eDrive35L combines a premium rear seat experience with locally emission-free driving. At the same time, the all-electric four-door sedan offers all the sporty driving dynamics, long-distance comfort and wide range of individualisation options for which the BMW 3 Series is so well known. A high level of build quality, service quality and longevity are likewise standout characteristics of the BMW i3 eDrive35L, making it a unique offering in the premium-compact segment.
