Half of Western military aid to Kyiv is delivered late, says Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, as the country struggles with an ammunition shortage. SOUNDBITE
NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says a delay in passing new US aid for Ukraine was already hurting Kyiv's forces on the battlefield against Russia. "We see the impact already of the fact that the US has not been able to make a decision, but I expect the US to be able to make a decision, that the Congress and the House of Representatives will agree continued support to Ukraine," Stoltenberg tells journalists at a meeting of the alliance's defence ministers in Brussels. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken issues a dire warning that Ukraine's territorial gains against Russia are at risk without new aid approved by Congress. "Without it, simply put, everything that Ukrainians achieved and that we've helped them achieve will be in jeopardy," Blinken tells a news conference alongside NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrrives in Kyiv for his first visit to Ukraine. He is greeted by Ukrainina president, Volodymyr Zelensky, outside his office before heading inside for a meeting where he is expected to discuss Poland's ongoing support for the war-torn nation. IMAGES
Germany announces 1.3 billion euros more in military gear for Ukraine in its fight against Russia, including four further IRIS T-SLM air defence systems as well as artillery ammunition. The package was unveiled by German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius after talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov in Kyiv. SOUNDBITE
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledges Can$650 million (US$482 million) for Ukraine during a visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The three-year "predictable, steady support for Ukraine" would include some 50 armoured vehicles as well as training for F-16 pilots, he tells parliament. SOUNDBITE
