Increasing prices of butter, flour, gas and electricity in France have been especially hard on its bakers. Despite the government announcing moves to ease the impacts of inflation on bakers specifically, Sahad Zerzour says it is not enough, and that the "measures that are being given are band-aids."
The connection partly lies in fertilisers, which require a great deal of gas to be produced.
Inflation is continuing to soar in advanced economies around the world. In the UK, the consumer price index rose by 4.2 percent in October, the highest in a decade, while the Eurozone's inflation rate hit a 13-year high.
