Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte vowed Monday to press on with his drug war that has claimed thousands of lives, as he urged lawmakers to endorse "eye-for-an-eye" death penalties. "I can confirm that the United States provided Ukraine with long-range ATACMs at the President's direction," US State Department spokesman Vedant Patel tells reporters. Biden "quietly directed his national security team to send ATACMs to Ukraine for use inside Ukrainian sovereign territory in February. Several dozen demonstrators try to get on the stage where President Cyril Ramaphosa was to make his annual speech on the state of the country, they are intercepted by the security forces present there. Before that, the demonstrators disrupted the ceremony and asked for the resignation of the South African president, as well as the end of power cuts in the country. Missouri's attorney general Eric Schmitt announces that his state will be the first "to effectively end abortion" in the United States, after the conservative-dominated Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 "Roe v. Wade" decision that enshrined a woman's right to an abortion, saying that individual states can now permit or restrict the procedure themselves.
