A Russian businessman who owns large meat-processing plants was murdered with a crossbow at his country home. CNN reports Vladimir Marugov, known as dubbed the 'Sausage King,' was in a sauna with his wife when the attack happened. Marugov's ex-wife, Tatyana Marugova, confirmed his death. Authorities say several masked men entered the bathhouse, tied the couple up, and then demanded money. Marugov's wife escaped through a window and called the police, who found her husband dead at the scene--along with the crossbow used to shoot him.

Seventy one people, including three foreign nationals and six crew members, were killed when Saratov Airlines flight 6W703 crashed shortly after take-off. The plane was flying to the city of Orsk when it vanished from radar screens shortly after it took off from Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, before crashing some 50 miles south-east of the capital. According to the Russian Transport Ministry a special committee is investigating the cause of the deadly crash.
At least 10 people were reportedly killed when a bomb exploded inside the Technology Institute metro station in the center of Saint Petersburg, Russia on Monday. Emergency services gathering on the platform 20 minutes after the blast struck the train as it had pulled into the station. The Saint Petersburg Metro have closed all subway stations in the wake of the incident.
