Thousands gather in central London for a demonstration in support of the Palestinian people as the bloody Israel-Hamas war continues. On Saturday January 13, the fighting entered its 99th day since the unprecedented Hamas attack of October 7 2023. Gunmen from the Gaza-based militant group entered Israel, killing 1,140 people, according to an AFP tally based on Israeli figures, and kidnapping a further 250. In response, Israel launched an all-out military campaign in the Gaza Strip, which the territory's Hamas-run health ministry says has killed more than 23,843 people, mostly women and children. IMAGES
Pro-Palestinian supporters begin marching in London. Almost 2,000 police officers will be on duty when more than 100,000 protesters are to march through London. Chanting slogans and carrying flags, banners and signs, the crowd moved through the streets.
