Ismailiya (Egypt), May 28 (EFE) .- (Camera: Pablo Pérez) The "Ever Given" entered the Suez Canal "off-center and at a speed that is not allowed in narrow sea lanes," the canal's head of state assures Efe Admiral Osama Rabie, on the eve of the trial for which he claims millionaire compensation from the company that owns the ship.FOOTAGE AND SOUNDBITES OF OSAMA RABIE, HEAD OF THE SUEZ CANAL.Translation:1.- “When it entered the canal, it was not centered and entered with a high speed that is not allowed in narrow sea lanes. Proof of this is that, when it collided with the bank of the canal, it entered a depth of 12 meters because it was entering with a high speed that caused the bow of the ship to sink. After all, the ship had a lot of loads”.2.- “We are building another new 10 km canal from kilometer 122 to kilometer 132. This is to increase the number of ships within the canal and reduce the crossing time. We are also going to expand the southern section by 40 meters from kilometer 132 to kilometer 162 and increase the depth of the canal from 66 feet to 72 ”.
