Volkswagen ID.3 Design Preview in Greece

Description

Astypalea is on course to become a smart, sustainable island. The first electric vehicles, including the first fully electric police car in Greece, were taken into service today in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess and Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Fragogiannis. The first public and private charging points were also inaugurated. The event marked the launch of the transition to full electrification on Astypalea. In the coming years, the island wants to switch to smart sustainable mobility and completely modernizing its energy system. Volkswagen and the Greek government signed a memorandum of understanding to this effect last November.

Intelligent, innovative and sustainable. With the ID.3 a new era of mobility at Volkswagen has started – intelligent, innovative and sustainable. The radically new design involves pioneering technologies. The ID.3 combines all the strengths of the modular electric drive matrix in a vehicle length of a just 4.26 meters – it offers plenty of space in the vehicle interior and the operating concept is intuitively simple. The high-voltage battery has been installed low down in the underbody, ensuring agile and nimble handling. The interior is also revolutionary. The long wheelbase of the modular electric drive matrix layout and the very short overhangs result in a strikingly large vehicle interior – the Open Space sets new benchmarks in the compact vehicle category. Digital displays and controls make it easy to get your bearings behind the wheel. The ID. Light – an LED strip in the cockpit – visually communicates with passengers. The ID.3 is almost exclusively operated using touch-sensitive buttons and surfaces or the intelligent Natural Voice control.

  • Three-row Volkswagen ID. Buzz Design Preview

With a length of 4,962 mm and up to seven seats, the large ID. Buzz is perfectly primed for its launch in North America. At the same time, it is also expanding its range of possible applications in Europe. The extra length due to the increase in the wheelbase by 250 mm creates room for a third row of seats, providing up to 2,469 liters of storage space, and for a new, larger 85 kWh battery (net capacity), giving even more range. And the new heat pump increases efficiency in winter. The large ID. Buzz will also be available with a new 210 kW (286 hp) electric drive motor. This electric drive motor increases the maximum speed to the electronic limit of 160 km/h (European ID. Buzz with 150 kW: 145 km/h). The large ID. Buzz can reach a speed of 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. But that’s not all: an all-wheel drive version (GTX) with an output of 250 kW (339 hp) has been announced for 2024. The ID. Buzz GTX will be able to complete the 0–100 km/h sprint in 6.4 seconds, making it perfect for rapidly merging with traffic on the highway.
