Abidjan, Jul 14 (EFE/EPA).- Islamic devotees in Ivory Coast on Wednesday began the preparations for the Eid al-Adha.Eid al-Adha is the holiest of the two annual Muslims holidays,marking the Muslim pilgrimage (Hajj) to visit Mecca, the holiest place in Islam. Muslims slaughter a sacrificial animal and split the meat into three parts, one for the family, one for friends and relatives, and one for the poor and those in need. (Camera: LEGNAN KOULA). Abidjan, Apr 17 (EFE/EPA).- Ivorians celebrated Saturday the last day of the 41th Popo Carnival in the city of Bonoua, located 60km south of Abidjan, the country's economic capital and major city.Derived from at first a celebration of the cultural heritage of the Aboure people, the Popo Carnival involves gastronomic competitions, Miss pageants, sports days, a festival of traditional dances and reflection workshops on Popo museum amongst other activities.
