Would you ever drink from a mug or eat from a plate glazed over with the ashes of your ancestors? Welcome to Chronicle Cremation Designs, a Santa Fe based business that offers a special type of funeral service. CEO Justin Crowe leads a team that converts the cremated ashes of deceased loved ones into a glaze that can be applied to everyday objects, like mugs, cups and plates, so that we can keep memories of our family, friends and lovers by our side long after they have breathed their last. The artist first started working with human ashes for an art project, where he made a dinner set using the remains of 200 bodies. Word got out and people started asking Crowe if he could make dinnerware with ashes of their own loved ones. He opened Chronicle Cremation Designs and has mixed human remains with clay ever since. What do you think about Chronicle Cremation Designs?
