New Orleans, Aug 28 (EFE/EPA).- Residents of New Orleans and the Louisiana coastal area were evacuated Saturday before the arrival of Hurricane Ida, which was expected to become an "extremely dangerous" hurricane, with sustained winds of up to 140 miles per hour (225 km/h). Hurricane Ida is expected to make landfall on the Louisiana coast on Sunday evening as a major hurricane with the Mississippi and Louisiana coastal areas preparing for storms surges, wind damage, and flooding.
