Monkeys, camels and penguins are put on scales at ZSL London Zoo, as zookeepers register the weight and height of all the animals, an annual exercise that helps them monitor their health and well-being.
Penguin chicks, squirrel monkeys and gorillas are among the animals having their vital statistics recorded at ZSL London Zoo’s 2017 annual weigh-in. Zoo keepers spend hours throughout the year recording the heights and weights of all the animals, information which helps them to monitor their health and well-being.

London Zoo holds its annual weigh-in of its many animals. While zoo-keepers posed for the cameras to demonstrate the measurements, the task does have a serious scientific basis, with weight a key indicator for health.
Following the Hamas militant group's 7 October attacks and Israel's subsequent ground offensive in Gaza, there have been apparent reprisals against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
