Covid-19 vaccination drive in Colombo amid third wave of pandemic

Colombo, Jul 5 (EFE/EPA).- Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps personnel carried out Monday a vaccination drive with China's Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine at a public park in Colombo. Sri Lanka has so far received over six million doses of Covid-19 vaccine with the stock of newly arrived 26,000 doses of Pfizer- BioNTech Comirnaty Covid19 vaccines Monday. Sri Lanka is currently using Oxford AstraZeneca, China's Sinopharm, Russian Sputnik V, Covid -19 vaccines for the Vaccine rollout. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is currently experiencing a serious shortage of Oxford AstraZeneca (Covishield) vaccine, to be given as a second dose.Sri Lanka has so far recorded a total of 265,630 Covid-19 cases with 3,236 deaths while a total of 2,971,751 people have received the first dose of the vaccine and 1,250,443 have already received the second one.(Camera: CHAMILA KARUNARATHNE)SHOT LIST:VACCINATION DRIVE IN COLOMBO, SRI LANKA.
