Viana do Castelo (Portugal), Sep 23 (EFE) .- (Camera: Paula Fernández) Windfloat Atlantic, the world's first semi-submersible floating wind farm, led by EDP Renovables in northern Portugal, generated 75 gigawatt hours (GWh) during its first year, with a technology for which the company has already announced plans in Spain.FOOTAGE OF THE WINDFLOAT ATLANTIC FLOATING WIND FARM, IN VIANA DO CASTELO, PORTUGAL.SOUNDBITES FROM THE PROJECT DIRECTOR, JOSÉ PINHEIROTRANSLATIONWe have been able to deliver 75GWh, which means more or less 60,000 people being supplied by this type of energy, avoiding 33,000 tons of CO2. It has been a success, with a lot of workThere is wind, there is a lot of sea, there are energy transition needs. There is a good fit for this type of technology to form part of the energy mix in Spain
