The CUPRA brand, created from SEAT's award-winning motorsport division, is the ultimate expression of uniqueness, sophistication and performance, born from passion and designed to captivate car enthusiasts around the world, creating vehicles that aren't founded in nostalgia but rooted in the present.Some of the most experienced, engaged and obsessed staff within the motorsport division decided to create a new dimension of the company - an alternative outlet for its competences and capabilities as an organisation.CUPRA will create an even livelier range of products focusing on SEAT models. They will leverage the Volkswagen Group's powerful technological toolkit and access the huge array of possibilities it gives them, but they will also be open to cooperating with people and companies which talk the same language and share the same understanding of how to create experiences: merchandising, accessories, events and, of course, motorsport.As CUPRA diversifies its business and develops new models that offer the perfect mix of performance, driveability and usability, the brand will leverage the existing infrastructure that SEAT benefits from, with dedicated floor space in 277 specially selected dealerships across Europe.The start of this journey began last February with the introduction of the new Brand and its first model, the CUPRA Ateca, a high-performance SUV that marks the beginning of a new era, and the perfect car to launch the CUPRA brand into the market.

The first 100% electric vehicle from the unconventional challenger brand delivers an emotional design and instantaneous performance, while challenging the status quo. The CUPRA Born delivers an advanced powertrain to produce instantaneous performance matched to a chassis that delivers driving emotions in any driving scenario. And with stimulating design to help CUPRA’s first all-electric vehicle stand out, the CUPRA Born is ready to shake things up in the market.The CUPRA Born marks a new era for the brand, joining the electrified CUPRA range together with the plug-in hybrid variants of the CUPRA Leon, CUPRA Leon Sportstourer and the CUPRA Formentor, all of which use electricity to maximise performance.Moreover, it’s the first model to be delivered to customers with a net CO2 neutral concept, where energy from renewable sources is used in the supply chain. The remaining emissions are offset by environmental and project investments certified to the highest standards. And CUPRA’s first all-electric vehicle brings a reinvigorated ownership proposition. As well as traditional models the CUPRA Born will also be offered under subscription contracts, with a monthly fee that will include the use of the vehicle and other related services. It’s a move that will help CUPRA challenge the market.

The Paseo del Born, one of Barcelona’s most popular tourist areas, gets transformed into a film set, with cameras and spotlights ready to turn a terrace into the backdrop for a meeting between CUPRA President Wayne Griffiths and actor and CUPRA ambassador Daniel Brühl. This is how the world presentation of the brand’s first 100% electric model begins, in a production with motion picture overtones designed to inspire from Barcelona.
