The German automaker is introducing a new evolution of its R8 LMS race car, called the R8 LMS GT3, Audi Sport’s fourth race car in the last four years. This new version of the vehicle has been “tailored closely to the customer requirements” as far as technologies and operating costs are concerned. This means that engineers and designers have spent a significant amount of time discussing the car with customers in the pre-design stage for the 2019 specification. Interestingly, aside from the cup-winning pro teams, Audi even met amateur drivers with class victories from all over the world.
Audi Sport GmbH will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Audi RS Q3 in 2023 with a particularly sporty version: the RS Q3 edition 10 years. And with the TT RS Coupé iconic edition, Audi is celebrating the success story of a quarter-century of the Audi TT Coupé. As a design icon and athletic sports coupé, the TT RS has shaped the brand just as much as the Audi R8 has as a super-sportscar. Since 2009, R8 has meant a 5.2 FSI ten-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, representing a core of the brand’s DNA. With up to 60% matching parts between the production model and the LMS race car, no other model from Audi Sport GmbH is closer to motorsports than the R8. It delivers top performance and is designed for maximum dynamics – and that’s exactly what it shares with the RS 3, which could not be further away in the portfolio. A compact sports car suitable for everyday use on the one hand, and a high-performance sports car on the other. Different vehicle segments, different drive concepts, but the exciting driving experience is available from the smallest Audi Sport model to the largest.

Highlights from the 2022 motorsport season for Audi Sport customer racing with worldwide success for the Audi RS 3 LMS touring car and the three GT models of the R8 LMS GT2, GT3 and GT4.
With 29 drivers and 14 teams in the 2023 season, the DTM once again had a first-class line-up. In this tough environment, the private team ABT Sportsline once again secured results in the top field at the finale at Hockenheim with third place for Ricardo Feller in the Audi R8 LMS in the drivers standings and position three in the team standings. With two victories, five podium positions and two pole positions, the team from Kempten was the most successful of three Audi customer teams in the traditional racing series. Feller is the only driver in the field, apart from the new champion Thomas Preining from Porsche, to have scored points in each of the 16 races. Ricardo Feller had also kept the title decision open until the finale.
