Manila marks 450th anniversary of its foundation

Description

Manila, Jun 24 (EFE/EPA).- Manila, the world’s most densely populated city, commemorated its the 450th anniversary on Thursday. The Philippines capital now hardly has any trace of the golden age when it was the first global city in the world, thanks to its galleon trade that linked it to Mexico’s Acapulco. With Covid-19 restrictions in place, the authorities have not organized any public events yet but declared the day a non-working day to mark the anniversary.
