Kiev (Ukraine), 17 Jul (EFE/EPA), (Camera: Sergey Dolzhenko).- Ukrainian activists protested on Friday in Kiev against a parliamentary initiative that postpones until September 2023 the possibility for people who began their education before 2018 in a certain language, other than Ukrainian, to continue their studies in this first language, instead of September 2020, as current legislation dictates. The protesters believe that postponing this deadline is detrimental to the presence of the Ukrainian language in the education system and to the benefit of the Russian language. The demonstration took place in front of the Parliament building and involved brief clashes with the police. FOOTAGE OF THE PROTESTS.
