Herat, Jul 30 (EFE/EPA).- Security forces and popular resistance forces on Friday continued to resist Taliban attacks in the Pol-e Malan area of Guzara district in Herat. Taliban have been attacking Herat city from few parts for the past two days, but security forces have prevented Taliban attacks.There were reports of casualties on both sides of the conflict, but the government and the Taliban did not specify the exact number of casualties.The Taliban on Tuesday condemned the United States' decision to continue offering air support to Afghan security forces even after the withdrawal of international troops from the country, which has allowed the insurgents to make rapid territorial gains. Herat, Jun 3 (EFE/EPA).- The number of war victims seeking prosthetic limbs in Afghan province of Herat has increased by almost 50 percent this year, said the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Herat.At least 62 people, including eight children, have been injured during clashes in the province over the last four months.The Orthopedic Hospital of the Red Cross Institute is able to provide 200 pieces of artificial limbs per day with over 69 people working in the center, nearly all of them are former patients or disabled who received support from the ICRC center or other center. Helmand, May 5 (EFE/EPA).- At least 106 Taliban fighters were killed and another 37 injured over the last 24 hours in a counterattack by the security forces in Afghanistan's southwestern Helmand province in response to an ongoing large-scale attack by the insurgents since the weekend. The Taliban have significantly ramped up attacks across the country immediately after the United States and NATO forces began the last phase of their pull out of the country on May 1.
