Madrid, Aug 16 (EFE).- The Madrid City Council has lit its iconic Plaza de Cibeles Monday night with the colors of the Afghan flag in a show of solidarity with Afghanistan and its people, after the Taliban seized power. A gesture, as announced Monday morning by the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, through his Twitter account is organized to show "solidarity with the Afghan people and especially with women in guarantee of their rights."
