Helicopters patrol above the burning Crocus City Hall in suburban Moscow after gunmen opened fire at a rock concert, killing an estimated 40 people and wounding more than 100, according to Russia's FSB. Attackers dressed in camouflage uniforms entered the building, opened fire and threw a grenade or incendiary bomb, according to a journalist for the RIA Novosti news agency at the scene. IMAGES
Images show firefighters still battling an "out of control" wildfire on the Spanish holiday island of Tenerife that has forced the evacuation of thousands of people. The fire, which broke out on August 15, has so far ravaged about 1,800 hectares (5,500 acres) through a forested area with steep ravines in the northeastern part of the island, part of the Canary Islands archipelago off northwestern Africa. Images show the Panama-registered carrier ship Fremantle Highway, which is carrying 3,000 cars and caught fire off the Dutch coast on Tuesday night as it travelled to Egypt from Germany. The ship, still on fire at 17:00 CET, is filmed from Buren Strand, Ameland Island – a popular holiday destination in the Waddenzee Netherlands, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Fears have been raised over environmental pollution as authorities warn that the fire could burn for days and threaten nearby natural sites. It is suspected that an electric car was behind the fire.
